HOW I WORE IT
I wear this sweater detail denim jacket by Lumie all the time, but for this outfit I styled it with my new pair of Joe’s Jeans black denim skinnies (shop more JOE’S JEANS) and velvet Donald J. Pliner combat boots. I’m also wearing my Marc Jacobs camera bag with EVERYTHING lately. Marc Jacobs Cross-Body Bags are my favorite as of late. They are so chic and go with everything!
TRUE STORY:
My closet actually broke last weekend because of the insane amount of clothes I’ve tried to shove in there. I know it’s champagne problems, but it’s still so sad when you have to figure out what clothes to get rid of just so your closet doesn’t break again. P.S. This happened AFTER I had already cleaned out my closet and donated about four bags to Goodwill. Yikes.
I forced myself to pull out a few more items to donate, but I just can’t bring myself to get rid of my denim.
I’M A DENIM HOARDER…
I have jeans that are too big, out of style, and some that are basically falling apart at the seems, but I refuse to get rid of them. I spent 40 minutes trying them all on and had a “donate” pile that I ended up just putting back in my closet because… tie waist cropped flares will be in again at some point right?! #SendHelp
I also WILL NOT get rid of my denim jackets. And some of them are just thrifted denim jackets that I got for $5… but I can’t part with them. Maybe it’s because I’ve worn them for so long?
I have one that I’ve been wearing since college. It’s stained with pink punch, but… memories #amiright? Another one I bought after I got my first job and it was $60, which was a splurge at the time. I have one that I bought when I first moved to Vegas and another that says “Mama” which I wore during my pregnancy. How am I supposed to ditch these? I don’t. That’s my answer.
NEVER OUT OF STYLE
My personal style has changed so much. Honestly, thank goodness it has. There are some early Instagram outfit posts that I’d love to delete because they are so embarrassing, but I keep on my grid because it tells my fashion story.
However, denim jackets have always been part of my personal style. And I’ve never regretted them. (Actually, there was that one period when I wore super-mini skirts and belly tops with a cropped jacket that was NONE cute – but that was in high school before Instagram so whatevs.)
THE DENIM JACKET I GET THE MOST COMPLIMENTS ON
My latest denim jacket purchase has proved to be a massive success. (By success I mean I received at least five compliments while wearing it). As I told you earlier, It’s by Lumie and I absolutely love the sweater sleeve detail and the oversized fit. It looks great with black denim, light jeans, corduroys, leather pants, etc. Also, it’s perfect to wear when it’s not freezing, but a little chilly.
I wanted to link some of my other denim jackets that I have in my closet. Some are sold out because they are so old, but I’ve managed to find some similar styles for you below. Honestly… you really can never have enough!
