MONOCHROMATIC
I love the look of one color from head to toe. It looks great in the form of a power suit or simply worn in cozy separates, like a sweater and wide-leg slacks. I personally like when the two colors are slightly off, so they look a little mismatched, but it works! This is such a cool standout outfit. It’s also a great way to add color into your fall/winter wardrobe.
PLAID
Plaid has been everywhere lately, but this season we’re seeing it a bunch of new fun colors as well. It’s kind of lie an ode to the 90’s, but with a modern twist. (See my latest post on how to pull off plaid).
ANIMAL PRINT
Another throwback print that’s been seen all over the streets of New York Fashion Week this year: animal print. You can add it into your wardrobe in little bits, like with a purse of a pair of heels. Or, if you’d like to really make a statement, wear it in the form of a midi dress or pants. I like to dress down animal print with casual pieces like a t-shirt or sneakers to keep it from looking too sexy for the daytime.

COWBOY BOOTS
The return of the cowboy boot! We saw this trend take off during festival season back in the spring. Now, the style is taking off! But, you don’t have to look like you just stepped out of a Spaghetti Western. Cowboy boots look really chic with mini dresses, midi skirts, or worn over your jeans. (See my recent post where I share 15 pairs of cowboy boots under $200).

POLKA-DOTS
I don’t think I’ll ever tire of polka dots! A fun way to try the trend out this season is to wear it from head to toe, but with alternating colors. I also like mixing big polka dots with little polka dots. It’s an easy way to mix prints.
