Looking for a little getaway? Here is a look at our trip to Los Cabos. Where we stayed, how spent our days, and how to get extra perks…
A little backstory on this trip…
It was originally supposed to be a FAMILY trip. We had planned on bringing Ollie with us, but realized too late that he needed a passport (first time parents over here!)
I had a mini meltdown the night before we left, but it all worked out for the best. Ollie stayed with his grandparents in Vegas and Mike and I were able to enjoy some time with just the two of us. I know it’s important to spend alone time with your significant other, but sometimes that’s easier said than done. In this case, it was perfect timing and we had the BEST time!
My good friend Addie from Jet Set and Travel helped set this trip up for us, and she totally killed it! Not only does she have great tips on her blog and Instagram, but she also makes the whole travel experience so easy. We basically just showed up and were catered on hand and foot. We also got extra perks, like free breakfast, a room upgrade and $100 in resort credit. (She in no way has sponsored this post… I’m adding this in because it will totally benefit you if you book with her).
We ended up staying at the Esperanza Resort in Los Cabos and it was GORGEOUS!!! We were greeted with cocktails (they also offered non-alcoholic beverages) and they held our luggage as we went to grab some lunch at one of the restaurants. After we finished, we were escorted to our room, where they had set up chips, guacamole and margaritas.
I did a whole room tour on my IGTV if you’re interested!
To say the staff was accommodating would be an understatement. Everyone was so nice and made sure to learn our names. This was a luxury experience and they made sure to make sure we felt comfortable and taken care of. We were! You can head to their website for more of what they offer.
Also, the food is amazing! Every meal we had was so good. They also have a breakfast buffet that’s HUGE.
The first night we ate on the beach and were actually the last ones to leave. Mike was telling me how he would try and strike up a conversation with me if we had just met in Cabo. It was ridiculous, but hysterical. It made us start to reminisce about the first time we met, which is always my favorite story. I’ll share “our story” on here at some point in the future.

We had such a good time relaxing by the pool, walking on the beach and sitting on our porch sipping margaritas just talking and laughing. Our conversations ranged from the deep and sentimental to us figuring out what kind of dinosaurs we would be. (If you’re wondering…Mike would be a Triceratops. Ollie and I would both be a Brontosaurus.)

After dinner we always went to walk on the beach or relax on the hammock. There were even fireworks one of the nights! Whenever we came back to our room there was a little straw figurine on our bed and they had come to light all our lanterns. It was so romantic.
One thing I noticed about Esperanza Resort is how accommodating they are towards families with children. They offer activities not only for the young ones, but for teens as well. There seemed to be a staff of nannies on site as well if you’re inclined to hire some help while you finish your dinner or just need some time alone with your partner.

We ended up staying for four days and three nights, and then it was back to Vegas to snuggle with our little Butter Bean. Of course, he’s so young he barely even knew we were gone.
Moral of the story: Mom guilt is real and can be a bit overwhelming at times. But, I’m realizing that if you have a happy marriage and you take some time to relax and reconnect then you end up being a better parent. I’m so happy we had this little getaway and I’m looking forward to when we get to go back!
Love, Lindsey
