Desert Sunset

Happy Hump Day! The weather has been so nice lately, and when it gets warmer, the bohemian chic in me starts to emerge. I love layering necklaces and rings, and this hat just tops it off (pun intended!)
Also, I’ve noticed my St. Patrick’s Day outfit post is receiving a lot of pinning on Pinterest. If you’re looking for something unique to pair with your green outfit – check out that Celtic necklace!
I personally love the trinity knot because you can layer it with other necklaces.
I’ve included the link below. What’s great it the website offers you a description of the different symbol meanings, which I love!
Cheers!
-Lindsey

Bundled up

Growing up in Pittsburgh, I remember I was only allowed to wear shorts to school when it was at least 55 degrees out in the morning. Now that I live in Vegas, 55 degrees feels more like 25 and I find myself bundling up. Most people say your “blood gets thin” and that’s why the cold feels colder in the desert. In my opinion, I’ve become a big… old… WUSS!
But, I’m not too upset because I get to put my coats to use.
I got this burgundy sweatshirt from a thrift store for two bucks about 7 years ago and it’s still my favorite.
A way I can dress it up is by simple throwing on a button-down underneath.
I’ve got about three white button-downs in my closet right now, and I still feel like I need more!
I mean, can you really have too many?

PINK PASTEL on a girl who doesn’t like pink

I’m breaking out of my “no pink” rule. I actually love the color on OTHER people. I just feel like it never looks good on me. But hey, people can change right?
To make it work for me I like to pair pastel pink with tougher pieces, like leather pants and edgy jewelry. That way I feel like it’s less Barbie, more ‘sweet girl with a bad side’.
Also, if you haven’t gotten yourself a fur vest I highly recommend it! It’s very easy to layer (blouses, plaid shirts, coats) and keeps you warm without adding a lot of bulk.

As always, thanks for stopping by!

Vest: h+m (similar style here and on sale!)
Faux leather pants: H+M
Bag: Chanel (gifted)
Top: forever21 (love this high neck version too)
Necklace: Thrifted

BOULDER CITY BRUNCH

Headed up to Boulder City for an out of the norm brunch today. It was my first time and I loved it! Antique shops, unique jewelry and great company. (We went to the Coffee Cup Cafe seen behind me – nom nom nom!)
This poncho is my favorite thing in my closet right now. I wear it ALLLLLL the time. I’ll even wear it while watching ‘Blacklist’ on the couch. (p.s. if you haven’t watched it yet-do it.) I decided to belt it today, but you can actually wear it multiple ways.
Pants: JCrew (similar style here)

TWO-TIME TUESDAY: One shirt two ways

One Shirt Two Ways
Anyone who knows me knows I love my band tees. One of the reasons is because they’re so versatile. They’re not just for jeans anymore! You can dress them up or down depending on the look you’re going for. I’ve included two examples of how you could style your favorite tee. One with some color, the other with a more neutral palette.

What’s YOUR favorite way to dress up a tee?

The Hunter or The Hunted

Happy Friday fashion friends! Hope you had a great week and are finishing it off with a bang!
I’m happy we got to snap some pics before the sun went down today. It’s getting hard to fit in outfit postings when it’s always so dark out! Did you hear that spring sunshine? You’re missed.
Anyways, my internet is on the fritz, so I’m sorry I can’t post links to this outfit. Actually, let’s be real. My entire computer is kaput. Did you hear that computer? I’m shopping around. You will not be missed.
P.S. Let’s all take a moment to rejoice. A fashion icon was born on this day. Happy Birthday Kate Moss!

Look 4 Less

Look 4 Less
When I need a little style inspiration I always look to Olivia Palermo. Her outfits are never boring, but every piece seems to go together seamlessly.
For this ‘look 4 less’ recreation I knew that the Christian Louboutin booties would have to be replaced for a more budget friendly version (insert huge sigh here). HOWEVER, I came across this pair from TopShop and they have gold soles so you stil get a semi-similar effect.
Next up, leopard print skirt. I haven’t come across a lot of them in stores, so you may have to go online for this one. You can just click the link below to take a peek at the version I’ve included here.
And don’t you LOVE chunky knit sweaters paired with blazers? I do! Plus, when you throw in an orange purse/clutch it allows you to mix navy and black. That color combo is no longer a style no-no ladies!

Do you have any celeb looks you’d like turned into budget friendly versions?
Let me know by tweeting me @SimonSaysMORE!

Golden Globes Best Dressed List

                            Emma Stone                                                     Julianne Moore

                              Heidi Klum                                                           Jennifer Lopez

                  Naomi Watts                                                     Katherin Heigl

The Golden Globes were handed out last night, which means TODAY is when we honor those who ruled the red carpet. I’ve got to say, I was hoping for a little more ‘pizazz’ this year, but most of the gowns were all one color and somewhat plain. Oh well, I guess people are going with what works – and truly there were more hits than misses.
By far my favorite look belonged to Emma Stone, I’m in love with her jumpsuit. It was also one of the only risks we saw last night. Another favorite was Naomi Watts’ stunning serpent necklace. (Searching for a low-price one that’s similar – I’ll keep you posted!)

What was your favorite look?

The NAVY Nomis Niche

Hey everyone! Came across these pictures that I never posted! Love when that happens!
It’s just a simple work outfit for when you don’t know what to wear. When I’m in a morning frenzy and trying to rush out the door this is pretty much my go to.
White button down, sweater, statement necklace, skinnies… done!
I actually got this sweater from h&m YEARS ago. Since it’s not expensive material, I try to get it dry cleaned every once in awhile so it doesn’t get dingy.
