A Little Daytime Shimmer

Top: Urban Outfitters (similar style here ) – Purse: forever21 – Shoes: Eva & Zoe – Ring: h+m White button-up: h+m

I normally steer clear of anything too sparkly, but I find that this top is so versatile. When paired with a white button down and some army green denim it turns into something a little less fancy and much more low key. I’ve also worn it with ripped denim, which also gives it a comfortable laid back feel.

I actually wore this outfit to the Reba, Brooks & Dunn concert here in Vegas (a must-see) and got some compliments from strangers. In my book… friend compliments are amazing. Stranger compliments are next level! Ha!

Elephant Broche

Pants: h&m – Chambray Shirt: Banana Republic –  Scarf: Forever21 – Purse: Target – Boots: h&m
Blazer: h&m – Watch: American Eagle – Earrings: forever21 – Broche: JCPenney

Broches are my jam lately. I love them pinned onto a blazer lapel to add a little something extra to your outfit. I saw this one in People Style Watch Magazine and fell in love (elephants are my favorite animal) My husband picked it up for me on Black Friday for $9! I’m obsessed.

Make your summer dress work for fall

Dress: Thrifted (similar here) Boots: Steve Madden via Off Broadway Shoes Faux Leather Jacket:h and m Sweater: Calvin Klein (thrifted, but similar here) Purse: Target (sold out online, but similar version here ) Rings: Gifted and thrifted

Just because it’s getting colder doesn’t mean you need to ditch all your summer dresses. It’s actually really easy to make them work for fall and into winter too. My rule is add boots, socks, sweaters and jackets. In this case…. I added all the elements!
I’ve been looking for turtleneck sweaters on all my usual websites, but I have a hard time spending a lot of money on something I know I’ll only get to wear a few months out of the year. I actually found this Calvin Klein sweater at Goodwill as I was looking for my Halloween costume. FIVE. BUCKS. I’m not even kidding. This turtleneck would be well over $80 if I bought it in a department store.
How are YOU winterizing your summer faves? Let me know!

Monochromatic

Monochromatic

Hey everyone! Today was the first semi-chilly day in Vegas, and in less than 24 hours I’ve amped up my #FallFanatic mode to 100. I could smell the crispiness in the air today and it made me giddy. Like… drive to work singing the whole way giddy.
It’s still too warm for sweaters and scarves… but a girl can dream right? I love monochromatic outfits because it’s easy and always looks so chic. I also like the look of a scarf piled on a slouchy turtleneck. When it gets super cold you could add a tan below the knee coat.
Oh October, I’m so happy to have you in my life again!

Life Is Beautiful

Dress: Free People via  Nordstrom Rack – that link will take you to other FP flowy dresses at a discount – Hat: Target – Shoes: Target (last year’s style, but similar version here) Purse: Foreve21 (old) Bracelets: Mix of American Eagle and Nordstrom Rack – Gree Ring: Gifted

Hey all! Happy Thursday!
I wore this outfit for our “Sunday Funday” this past weekend and thought it would also work well for a Life is Beautiful outfit. Tip: you’ll want to wear comfortable shoes as you’ll be standing the whole time.
I always lean towards Free People brand when I’m looking for something to wear to a music festival.I typically like dresses with some waist definition, but I like this one because while it IS loosey goosey… it fits nicely so you don’t feel like you’re wearing a mu-mu. You can also wear a bralette and not have your “bewbs” look sagged and bagged. So nice. I seriously felt like I was wearing pajamas!
For low-cost Free People items – go to Nordstrom Rack. For the Las Vegas ladies out there… I’ve been to the one in Henderson and the one in Downtown Summerlin (where I got this dress). Both are great and have racks of Free People clothes.

Chambray Ba-Bay

Chambray shirt:Banana Republic (sold out online but similar versions here) – White jeans: Target – Heels: Target (can’t find them online, but similar clearance version here) – Belt: Vintage – Bag: Forever 21 – Watch: American Eagle – Necklace: H&M (old) – Sunglasses: The husband’s (he got them at a grocery store for $10… I’m not kidding!)

Happy Hump Day everyone! Here’s hoping the first half of your week was great and the second half gets even better! I love this chambray shirt that I got for basically nothing thanks to my little sis’s Banana Republic discount. (woop woop Albob!) If you don’t have one already… get one immediately. They’re great for spring, summer, fall… and you can layer them in the winter under your sweaters. Just replace them with your normal white button down for a little something different.
