LAYERED UP: WEEKEND ERRANDS

Coat: H+M (old) –  Striped shirt: thrifted – Scarf: Target – Jeans: Target – Sunglasses: RayBan – Sneaks: Nike – Purse: Target: Sam and Libby (similar style here)

Wore this while running errands that should have been done a month ago. I finally changed everything over my new married name! That also meant coming up with a new signature. I swear I drew it all over a piece of scratch paper before finalizing everything. Just another example of how I overthink even the tiniest things!
Of course errand running means I’m wearing my trusty Nike sneaks. So versatile! For more posts with my fave comfy kicks click here and here.

Turtleneck Tip: Layer it under a deep V-neck dress

Grey V Neck Dress: Shein.com – Turtleneck: Zara – Boots: Report via Macy’s – Purse: Forever 21

Turtlenecks baby… they’re not for kindergartners anymore! I recently got a few and love thinking up new ways to layer them (Here’s how I styled them with a leather jacket, and with a blazer). I think of them as an alternative to the white button up. They look chic with low cut dresses (like this one), tucked into pencil skirts, and worn with skinny pants like Audrey Hepburn. Just thinking of her makes me want to eat a scone in front of Tiffany & Co.
How are you styling your turtleneck? Let me know!

Long and Gray

Coat: Shein.com – Pants: Nordstrom Rack – Sweater: H+M – Collared white blouse: Banana Republic – Shoes – Nike

Long coats are my THANG as of late and I couldn’t wait to wear this one after I got it in the mail.
The length is great, but my one tailoring snag is that the lapels seem to come up and flap around. Nothing that some stitches can’t fix though.

I stuck to a black and white pallet to go with the gray and since I was running a lot this day I threw on my Nike sneaks (I seriously wear them all the time – here’s another weekend look post I did about them ). They’re proving to be very versatile – which of course I love.
Thanks for stopping by!

New Year’s Eve

Sequin Dress: Forever 21 – Heels – Steve Madden (similar here)
It’s that time of year again! While I don’t usually dress up too much for New Year’s Eve, I decided that with 2015 being such an amazing year I’m going to send it off with some flare!
I came across this dress at Forever 21 and I swear I think I blacked out until I was at the checkout counter and saw this sequin blush dress in my hand. I don’t own anything with sequins – or blush for that matter – so it was a bit of an odd pick for me… but I love it!  It’s comfortable and fits just right. I’m already thinking of ways to dress it down for other occasions.
I’d also like to take this time to thank each and every one of you for your continued support. I’m so appreciative for every time you share this blog on your social media pages and let your friends know about The Nomis Niche. My heart is truly full of gratitude.
So cheers to the 2016 and may it be filled with more blessings than you can count!

Christmas in Pittsburgh

Coat: Shein – Shoes: Penny Loves Kenny – Scarf: h+m – Hat: Target – Purse: forever 21

It’s good to be back in Vegas, but I always get a little down after Christmas is over and we have to leave family and friends in Pittsburgh. This picture was actually taken in the backyard on the ONLY cold day in the Burg’. Seriously, it felt like springtime for the rest of the trip!
I love the length of this coat. I’ve been looking for one that hit at my shins and this one was just the right price. Keep the pallet neutral and add in some pops of color, like red shoes and a red beanie.

ONE TURTLENECK TWO WAYS

Turtleneck Two Ways

Turtlenecks are my JAM as of late. Especially the loosey goosey ones that don’t feel like hands strangling my neck (you know what I’m talking about). So forget everything you once thought you knew about turtlenecks and let’s begin…
First of all… you can wear them multiple ways: under dresses, tucked in skirts, under your favorite leather jacket, etc. For these two options I chose some items that I feel you may already have in your closet.

FIRST LOOK: Pairing a gray turtleneck with distressed jeans and some sneaks is my ultimate winter weekend look (just check out this look if you think I’m lying). A red beanie and a leopard purse makes it feel more put together. Also, I’m very excited Adidas Originals (or shell-toes as I call them) are back. I owned three pairs in high school and I’m pinching myself for not taking better care of them!

SECOND LOOK: Depending on how the sweater fits you, I would either tuck it completely into the skirt or do a “half-tuck” for more polish. I love how the wine colored purse and emerald booties compliment each other and give your otherwise neutral outfit some color. I debated throwing on a grandma-chic broche instead of the silver statement necklace (as seen here) – but really either would look great.

     Hope that helps! Happy styling!

Mad About Plaid

Mad About Plaid

I’ve got a few plaid flannel shirts that I put on a heavy rotation, but incorporating the print into other pieces is so much more exciting! For the first look I paired a plaid print dress with a white turtleneck to make it more winter-ready. Don’t forget the OTK boots!
The second look is more casual, but still chic. Also, those Oxford shoes remind me of when I was little. The leather jacket gives the outfit a little edge too.
For the final look, I chose a Victorian blouse underneath a plaid skirt with a lace hem. This is actually something I would wear for Christmas. So, I paired it with that adorable Kate Spade “present purse”. Go festive or go home, right?!

Sunday Sneaks

Jean Jacket: American Eagle Outfitters (on sale now!) – Sweater: Thrifted – Sunglasses – Rayban – Jeans: h+m
Purse: Sam and Libby (similar style here) – Shoes: Nike

After a week in heels, sometimes your feet just need a break. I recently got these Nike sneaks and they’ve quickly become my weekend go-to. They’re also very light, which is an added perk. I’d also pair them with leather pants, a mid-calf coat and a cozy sweater.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
