To me, nothing is cooler than a vintage tee. Whether they feature your favorite band, college, or cartoon character … you really can’t go wrong! Today I’m sharing my tips for finding the perfect vintage tee and where you can find them.
SHOP MY LOOK
TYPES OF TEES
Concert/Band Tees: Don’t just buy a band t-shirt just because it looks cool. You should actually know the band and at least a few of their songs.
TV/Cartoon Tees: Were you a fan of Full House? Rock it on your tee! Did you love Saved By The Bell? Show it! I recently found a Super Mario Brothers tee and it makes me so happy every time I wear it. It reminds me of when I was younger, playing Nintendo on the floor of my grandmother’s living room eating dill pickles by the jar.
College Tees: Lately I’ve been really into old school college tees. I actually have a few vintage University of Kentucky sweatshirts that I love, but it’s also fun to collect college tees from places like Harvard or Princeton.
THE FIT
Worn-in, not over-worn: You want the tee to look vintage, but not like it’s about to fall apart at any second.
The perfect size: You can go two ways with this. If I’m getting a concert or college tee, I like for them to be a little bit bigger. If it’s a retro tee or something that looks like it’s straight out of the 70’s, I like to get it a little tighter because I’ll most likely be wearing it with high waist cutoffs or flares.
WHERE TO FIND THEM
#1 Any vintage store! I personally have a lot of luck at Buffalo Exchange here in Las Vegas. There are multiple locations across the country.
#2 Etsy. It’s so easy to search what you’re looking for and there are so many options.
#3 Urban Outfitters. Sure, they may not be REAL vintage, but they’re the next best thing!
