Hi everyone! It’s been awhile since I posted a DIY project, but I love the way this turned out and wanted to share. I found a similar dandelion project on Pinterest, and decided to make it my own with a few changes to make it a little easier. Hope you enjoy!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
- Wood stain
- White wood paint (I used the leftover paint we used for our walls, but this one works well too)
- 2 Large paintbrushes (for dark stain and white paint)
- Chalk marker (for sketching)
- 1 small paintbrush (for dandelions)
- Knobs (I used crystal glass knobs, but there are so many fun options to choose from!)
STEP #1
Remove all the drawers. Place the base of the chest and the drawers on either sheets or plastic shower liners you don’t mind getting dirty. I prefer the shower liner because it doesn’t stick to the paint/stain like towels do.
STEP #2
Remove the knobs from your drawers. You may need a screwdriver for this part.
STEP #3
Start staining. Follow the instructions on the can to make sure you’re getting the best color possible. It took about three coats to get the dark wood look I was going for.
STEP #4
As the drawers are drying, start painting your base white (or whatever color you’d like!) Since I was painting over raw wood, it only took me two coats.
STEP $5
Let everything dry overnight. Then, place the drawers back in their place. This is when you get to start sketching. I recommend using chalk markers because you can easily wipe away any mistakes.
STEP #6
Once you have everything drawn the way you like, paint over the chalk with the same white paint you used on your base. Make sure to use a small enough paintbrush to make things easier on you.
STEP #7
Screw on your new knobs to finish the look! That’s all!
Love, Lindsey

So cute!! This would be perfect for a nursery or playroom. We’re in the middle of a full remodel (new cabinets, totally redone bathrooms, new composit fence, new carpets, etc.) and I am getting so ready for all the construction to be done so I can finally decorate!! Thank you so much for sharing!
