There’s no doubt that the 90’s are having a major resurgence as of late…
From bandanas to overall dresses, the grunge decade is making a huge comeback. So of course it’s natural for the patches trend to come back as well.
*Sidenote: I had a Looney Tunes patched denim jacket that I wore pretty much everyday until I grew out of it. It also had pockets inside where I could keep my fave LipSmackers – watermelon and cinnamon sugar… not to be applied at the same time
While you can always go out and purchase a patched denim jacket, I decided to save some money and make mine a little more personal by ordering patches that I personally loved. It’s such an easy process… and doesn’t need much explaination… but I did it anyway..
SUPPLIES:
-Denim jacket (I got this Express jacket from Goodwill for $6)
- Iron on patches (I ordered most of these from esty)
- Iron, Pillowcase or something else to form as a barrier between your iron and jacket
STEP ONE:
Lay out all your patches and place them wear you’d like them to be on your jacket. Have fun with it and get creative!
STEP TWO:
Make sure to take a picture of where the patches are laid on your jacket. You’ll use this picture as a reference as you iron each one on individually.
STEP THREE:
Get to ironin’! I used a pillowcase as a barrier between my patch and the iron. Make sure the iron is on the highest level. Iron your patch on for about 30 seconds, then lift to see if it’s stuck to your jacket. You can repeat this step as needed. I also turned the jacket inside out after all the patches were ironed on to run over the area one more time.
STEP FOUR:
Babe out in your new patchwork denim jacket!
